Speaker Instructions

  • General Information

    All presenters (presenting author, discussant, panellists, moderators, chair, and workshop presenters) are required to register for the conference.

    Prior to attending the Conference at Wrest Point Hotel, checking the program is essential to confirm your allocated session and time.

    Authors of accepted abstracts are expected to present live at the in-person conference. 

    Presentations must not be any longer than the allocated time slot and the nominated timekeeper for your room will ensure the program stays on time.

  • Prior to the Conference Actions

    A presenter is deemed the nominated person who will present an oral paper. All presenting authors must be registered for the conference within 2 weeks of acceptance of their submission.

    If you are not registered for the conference at the time your acceptance letter is sent, an invoice for your conference registration will also be sent. Any ABA Australia member will receive conference tickets at the flash sale rate.

  • Preparing for the Presentation

    Please refer to the program schedule to view the day and time of your presentation. The program is subject to change, please ensure you review the most recent program.

    The preferred method of presentation is via PowerPoint. PowerPoint presentations should be prepared in wide screen 16:9 (not standard 4:3 format). It is recommended that you bring your presentation to the conference on USB Flash drive in case of technical problems with you laptop and need to play your presentation off another person’s laptop.

  • Your Session

    All session rooms will be equipped with a lectern, gooseneck microphone, data projector and speakers supplied by the venue. For workshop presenters and invited speakers a lapel microphone will be provided. 

    You must bring your own laptop to run your presentation. Please ensure you bring the appropriate adaptors.

    We further recommend you arrive ready to set up for your presentation in the session room 10 minutes prior to the commencement of the session. Please check in with the room monitor upone your arrival to the session room. The room monitor will be wearing a yellow volunteer vest. This person will be able to assist you in setting up and contacting the AV support if needed.
